Please note, the majority of data and analysis on this site is supplied by Wireless Intelligence.

Our clients and third parties frequently make requests to quote extracts from our research. The following sets out the guidelines for using the material on this site.

This citation policy concerns the material supplies by Wireless Intelligence only. This includes:

  • Data
  • Wireless Intelligence reports
  • Industry Snapshots

If you would like to cite any of the other material (e.g. the GSMA bulletins or downloads) please contact us.

 

Citing Wireless Intelligence Material

 

Members of the press

Members of the press may re-use Wireless Intelligence material provided that:

  • all portions of text identify Wireless Intelligence as the source
  • the Wireless Intelligence copyright statement is affixed to all graphics. Wireless Intelligence's copyright statement is: © Wireless Intelligence 2008
  • when quoting an analyst or consultant, the full name and title of the analyst is cited, as well as the name of the service (Wireless Intelligence).

 

Clients / Non-clients

Wireless Intelligence material may be cited provided that the guidelines set out in our Independence Charter are followed. In addition, the general principles for citing Wireless Intelligence are:

  • all citations must be accurate, quoted verbatim, and/or duplicated without being manipulated, adapted, paraphrased or summarised and they must not be used out of context
  • quotes or extracts must be about general industry issues, markets and/or trends, and uses are subject to the guidelines set out in Wireless intelligence's Independence Charter
  • quotes or extracts must not endorse a vendor's service or product, or criticise another vendor's product or service, or be used to play one vendor off against another
  • any quote or extract must be from research published within the last three months; quotations from research published prior to that timeframe require verification and approval
  • quotes from an analyst or consultant should be attributed to that person, using the full name and title of the analyst, as well as the name of the service (Wireless Intelligence)
  • the Wireless Intelligence copyright statement must be affixed to all graphics (diagrams, graphs and/or tables). Wireless Intelligence's copyright statement is: © Wireless Intelligence 2008.
  • Wireless Intelligence's research is proprietary to Wireless Intelligence and subject to copyright and property protections
  • commercial use of the research is prohibited.

 

When do you need approval?

Clients:

  • may reproduce a diagram, graph or table for use in marketing collateral, provided that all citations adhere to the general rules outlined above
  • should seek approval from Wireless Intelligence's Marketing team where a verbal quotation or written material is intended for use in any form of marketing collateral or publicly available information, or where reproduction and/or distribution of the research is required.

Non-clients:

  • should seek approval to cite any of Wireless Intelligence's material for any use.

 

How to get approval

Please present all requests to Wireless Intelligence's Marketing team:

  • all requests to use quotations, graphs, diagrams and/or tables should be submitted in their final media vehicle, eg. press release, marketing materials, presentation, etc
  • all of the elements in the above guidelines should be included for approval (copyright statement, source, attribution, etc)
  • we will work with you to provide approval within two business days on receipt of your request.
